The Opportunity

• Adecco is partnering our client, one of the world's largest financial services organizations
• We are looking for a Software Engineer - Edge AI and IoT
• The role will start out as a contract
• Candidates who are immediately available/ able to start work within short notice will be preferred

The Talent

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Electronic Engineering, or a related field, with 3+ years of experience in Android development and machine learning (framework layer & system services).
• Proven experience developing machine learning models and algorithms on Android platforms for commercial products or projects.
• Strong programming proficiency in Java, Kotlin, or C/C++, with solid programming discipline and experience in large-scale software development.
• Deep understanding of the Android kernel, eg. Interrupt processing, Memory management, Process scheduling, Device drivers
• Hands-on experience diagnosing and resolving Android system issues, such as:Deadlocks, Crashes, Performance bottlenecks, Low-power optimization
• Proficiency with mobile ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow Lite, PyTorch Mobile) and experience optimizing ML models for mobile devices.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Experience with open-source large language model (LLM) inference on devices would be a plus.

Job Description

• Implement and maintain machine learning algorithms and edge AI models provided by the data scientist team on Android based IoT devices.
• Integrate machine learning models and optimise performance on Android platforms.
• Work on video and audio processing using machine learning techniques on Android devices.
• Develop sensor data processing algorithms for the applications on Android platforms.
• Provide technical support for product and operations teams.
• Write related technical documentation and contribute to patent applications.
