AI/ML Research Engineer | AI Center of Excellence

We are looking for a passionate and creative AI/ML Research Engineer! Someone who is interested in pushing the boundaries of machine learning, with a demonstrable ability to apply their skills, be it technical or behavioural practically in order to generate business value. We are looking for a candidate that has built a good intuition in machine learning methodologies and practices when applying them in different domains.

Your role within our Kingdom:

You’ll be part of AI Labs, a research team within King’s AI Center of Excellence. AI Labs support business to solve communal modelling challenges in machine learning use cases, as well as explore state of the art to unlock opportunities to bring value to the company. As a member of AI Labs, you will be working closely with other Research Engineers in the Labs focusing on mid term or long term research projects, as well as working with ML Engineers and Data Scientists, supporting them to develop and operationalize machine learning (ML) models as part of King’s central machine learning initiatives. Our team investigates different research areas on automation at scale for game content, player experience optimization, AI trustworthiness, and new emerging technologies.

Minimum requirements:

• A PhD in Machine Learning, Computer Science, or a related field with relevant experience, or a Master’s degree in a similar field with proven relevant experience
• Solid working experience of Python programming
• Working experience of PyTorch, Tensorflow, Keras or similar frameworks
• Experience in applying machine learning in real-world problems
• General machine learning expertise, i.e. regression, classification, and clustering algorithms, time-series analysis, Bayesian methods, self-supervised methods, and generative models.
• Prototype-to-production engineering skills in Python, including standard methodologies such as proper documentation, library packaging, versioning, testing and task scheduling
• Professional habits around model validation, testing, and tracking
• Designing good ways of communicating, visualizing and reporting your results/analysis so they are clear and unambiguous
• Strong communication skills
• A passion for analytics and diving into as well as experiencing the products on which you work.
  
  

Bonus skills:

Have any sweet experiences with one or some of the following areas? Then we sure like to hear about them!

• Publications or write-ups in the area of artificial intelligence or machine learning
• Development in or exposure to environments/software products in Python and Java
• Experience in distributed data processing (batch & streaming) and modelling
• Experience building data pipelines and ML pipelines
• Familiarity with a cloud solution - experience in GCP data products is preferred (BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow, Pub/Sub to name a few)
• Experience managing or mentoring other Data Scientists and ML Engineers in the team.
• Contribution to open-source projects
• We know that you are into games on some level (casual, console, board-games, Uno etc.)
• Knowledge in SQL.
