The Impact You'll Make
As our Summer Trainee, Software Platform, you’ll play an important role in developing and improving the iC7 Software Platform which is the core software for Danfoss's next generation iC7 intelligent drives. We are looking for summer trainees for our Vaasa and Tampere sites.
Your impact? You will help make our software platform more efficient and reliable, supporting faster development and better products for customers worldwide. You’ll bring your fresh knowledge and personality to the team, contributing with your skills, attitude, and ability to learn.
You’ll collaborate with a global team of experts across diverse areas such as test automation, modern C++, C, FPGA, and power conversion control. In iC7 Software Platform team we follow agile practices, where responsibility is shared, and progress is driven by strong expertise and a proactive mindset. You will become an integral part of the agile development team and take ownership of tasks that match your skills, helping us move toward a more innovative and efficient future.

What You’ll Be Doing
Depending on your skills and interests, your tasks may include some of the following:
- Working with Azure pipelines (e.g., Azure agents, YAML, PowerShell)
- Digital logic design and verification (VHDL, HLS, UVVM)
- Microcontroller architectures and peripherals (ARM, RiscV, AXI, DMA, DDRx)
- C/C++17 coding for embedded targets running real-time operating systems
- Matlab/Simulink modeling and test lab maintenance
- Automated tests development for CI/CD (Robot Framework)
What We're Looking For
- At least 2 years of B.Sc. or M.Sc. studies in programming, electrical engineering, or automation
- Interest in embedded software development, digital design or software testing
- Good command of English or Finnish
- Ability to work well in a team, take initiative, and eagerness to learn
- A mindset of problem-solving and continuous improvement
