About the Project:
We are recruiting on behalf of a leading tier-one main contractor for a career-defining, Major Infrastructure Scheme in North Dublin. This is a strategically vital, complex civil engineering project that will transform sustainable transport in the region.
The scheme will deliver:
- 22km of dedicated bus priority infrastructure, enhancing public transport efficiency and reliability.
- 20km of new cycling infrastructure, promoting active travel and connectivity.
As a cornerstone project for the area’s development, it involves significant civil works, utilities diversions, public realm enhancements, and stakeholder coordination within a live environment.
The Role:
We are seeking an experienced, dynamic, and commercially astute Project Manager to lead the construction phase of this high-profile scheme. You will have full responsibility for the safe, on-time, on-budget, and quality delivery of the project, upholding the highest standards of excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide overall leadership, direction, and management of the project from mobilisation through to successful completion.
- Ensure the highest standards of Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental compliance are maintained at all times.
- Develop and manage the project programme, budget, and resource plan, implementing robust control measures to mitigate risk.
- Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing site management team, subcontractors, and supply chain.
- Act as the primary point of contact for the client, design team, statutory authorities, and key stakeholders, fostering collaborative relationships.
- Proactively manage project risks, opportunities, and change, ensuring commercial success.
- Ensure strict adherence to all project specifications, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Drive innovation, efficiency, and sustainability throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare and present detailed progress reports to senior management and the client.
Essential Requirements:
- A degree in Civil Engineering or a directly related field.
- Proven experience as a Project Manager with a main contractor, delivering large-scale, complex civil engineering/infrastructure projects.
- A demonstrable track record of successfully managing projects >€20m in value, ideally within road, public realm, or active travel infrastructure.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen, with experience managing substantial budgets and contracts.
- Excellent knowledge of health, safety, and environmental legislation (Irish/UK).
- Outstanding leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- A valid safe pass card and full driving licence.
Desirable Experience:
- Direct experience delivering major infrastructure projects within Ireland or the UK is highly preferred.
- Experience with Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) or similar authority procedures and standards.
- Experience in projects involving significant public interfaces, utilities diversions, and traffic management.
- Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartership (ICE, Engineers Ireland, etc.).
