Role Overview
Join a high-performing telecom engineering team as a DevOps Engineer, where you will drive CI/CD automation, infrastructure modernization, and operational excellence across BSS/OSS systems. You will work on large-scale telecom platforms including billing, CRM, provisioning, and network management while enabling faster releases, high availability, and resilient operations. This role offers deep exposure to Kubernetes, cloud environments, automation frameworks, monitoring tools, and multi-vendor telecom ecosystems in an Agile and DevOps-driven environment.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Implement and maintain Zenon project logic (drivers, variables, alarms, trends, recipes, reports) and runtime scripts for monitoring/control of site infrastructure.
- Build auxiliary services/APIs to expose SCADA data and control interfaces to OSS systems (inventory, assurance, energy dashboards).
- Configure data acquisition (OPC UA/Modbus/IEC protocols), normalize signals, and manage historian/trend storage.
- Develop REST/WebSocket/OPC UA integrations between Zenon and OSS/BSS platforms (Inventory, Service Assurance, Energy/Facility Mgmt).
- Ensure idempotency, retries/back‑off, and robust error handling in all interfaces.
- Integrate alarm/event flows with ITSM (Incident/Change/Problem) and NOC/SOC tools.
- Profile and optimize Zenon runtime (screen refresh, variable polling, driver settings), and application services to hit latency/throughput targets.
- Follow ITIL processes; prepare CAB artifacts, risk assessments, and back‑out plans for changes.
Experience & Skills Requirements:
Must have:
- SCADA/Zenon experience: project configuration (drivers, variables), alarms/trends, scripting/logic, panel engineering, and OPC UA/industrial protocols.
- Programming & Scripting: one or more languages for service development and automation (e.g., C#/Python/TypeScript or vendor‑supported scripting for Zenon).
- Integrations: REST APIs, OPC UA bridges, message queues (if applicable); reliability patterns (idempotency, retries, circuit breakers).
- Site infrastructure knowledge: power (UPS/generator), cooling (CRAC/Chillers), sensors (temperature/humidity), and typical telecom site telemetry.
- Security & governance: RBAC, TLS, secrets management, audit trails; experience with ITIL Incident/Problem/Change.
Good to have:
- Experience with energy KPIs (PUE/DCiE), capacity planning, and sustainability dashboards.
- Familiarity with TM Forum frameworks (eTOM/SID/ODA) and OSS integration concepts.
- Observability tooling (Elastic/Kibana, Grafana/Prometheus) and APM.
- CI/CD exposure (Jenkins/GitHub Actions/Azure DevOps) and Infrastructure‑as‑Code (Ansible/Terraform).
- Knowledge of site safety standards and regulatory requirements for energy systems.
Success Metrics & Unique Selling Proposition (USP) of The Role:
- Faster and more reliable software delivery through automated CI/CD and containerized deployments.
- Improved system stability, uptime, and SLA performance in large-scale telecom environments.
- Strong impact on cost reduction and operational efficiency through automation and infrastructure-as-code.
- Ability to lead modernization of BSS/OSS platforms using Kubernetes, cloud, and advanced monitoring tools.
- Act as a key driver connecting development, operations, and architecture teams for DevOps excellence.
What we offer / What’s in it for you:
- Opportunity to work on large-scale telecom platforms with modern DevOps and automation technologies.
- Exposure to cloud, Kubernetes, monitoring ecosystems, and next-gen BSS/OSS modernization initiatives.
- Collaborative environment with cross-functional and global engineering teams.
- Continuous learning and career growth supported by certifications and complex project exposure.
- Ownership of strategic DevOps initiatives with direct impact on operational performance and delivery speed.
