Key Responsibilities

Facility Maintenance and Management

• Oversee the operation and maintenance of all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
• Ensure timely repair and upkeep of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs.

Team Leadership

• Recruit, train, and manage the engineering team.
• Delegate tasks and ensure team alignment with departmental goals.
• Foster a culture of safety, professionalism, and continuous improvement.

Energy Management

• Monitor energy usage and identify opportunities for cost savings.
• Implement sustainable practices to enhance energy efficiency and reduce the carbon footprint.

Safety and Compliance

• Ensure adherence to local, state, and national safety regulations and codes.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and audits.
• Maintain documentation for compliance purposes, including fire safety and equipment certifications.

Budgeting and Planning

• Prepare and manage the engineering department's annual budget.
• Oversee procurement of parts, tools, and materials.
• Negotiate with vendors and contractors for projects and repairs.

Project Management

• Lead renovation, construction, and major repair projects.
• Coordinate with external contractors and consultants.
• Ensure projects are completed within scope, budget, and timeline.

Guest Experience

• Ensure all engineering-related guest concerns are addressed promptly.
• Maintain high standards of comfort, including consistent water pressure, lighting, and air conditioning.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil preferred).
• Experience: 10+ years of experience in engineering or facility management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role in the hospitality sector.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in managing HVAC, MEP systems, and energy management tools.
• Certifications: Professional Engineering license or certification (preferred), knowledge of OSHA standards.
