Job Title: Scrum Master – IT Operations
Location: Dallas–Fort Worth (DFW), TX
Work Arrangement: Onsite, 5 days per week (Command Center)
Employment Type: 6-Month Contract-to-Hire
Position Overview
The Scrum Master for IT Operations plays a critical role in enabling agile practices across IT operational teams. This individual will support the efficient delivery of infrastructure, application support, and reliability initiatives by facilitating Scrum ceremonies, driving cross-functional collaboration, and removing impediments. The role partners closely with Product Owners, engineers, and stakeholders to align operational work with business objectives, governance standards, and compliance requirements while promoting continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Serve as an Agile coach for IT Operations teams, reinforcing Scrum principles, Agile values, and best practices.
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives for operational workstreams.
- Coordinate and support cross-functional initiatives spanning infrastructure, application support, DevOps, and reliability engineering teams.
- Track, analyze, and report operational metrics such as incident resolution times, change management outcomes, and overall service delivery performance.
- Identify, remove, and escalate impediments to ensure timely execution of operational priorities and initiatives.
- Partner with Product Owners and business stakeholders to prioritize work aligned with organizational goals, risk management, and compliance requirements.
- Promote continuous improvement through process optimization, automation opportunities, and Agile maturity initiatives.
- Ensure operational practices adhere to governance frameworks such as ITIL and COBIT, as well as internal standards and policies.
- Support incident management activities, including real-time coordination during major incidents and post-incident reviews.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, or a related STEM field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of experience working in an IT Operations or comparable technical environment.
- 2+ years of experience as a Scrum Master or Agile facilitator.
- Strong understanding of ITIL, COBIT, and IT operational governance frameworks.
- Familiarity with infrastructure, application support, DevOps, and SRE practices.
- Experience using Agile lifecycle tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
- Knowledge of incident management, reliability engineering, and service operations.
- Experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Grafana, ELK, Datadog, and network performance monitoring platforms.
- Understanding of regulatory and compliance frameworks including PCI-DSS and SOX.
