Role Overview:
The Desktop Technician will provide advanced technical support for end users, ensuring smooth operation of hardware, software, and network systems. This role involves troubleshooting complex issues, performing installations and upgrades, managing assets, and supporting IT projects across Sydney and Melbourne offices.
Location: Martin Place, Sydney (with occasional travel to Melbourne)
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide onsite and remote support for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues (VPN, Wi-Fi, wired).
• Install, configure, and maintain operating systems and applications.
• Deploy and image desktops/laptops, perform upgrades, and support IT projects.
• Collaborate with internal and vendor IT teams on cross-functional issues.
• Maintain IT asset records, ensure system security, and document all activities.
• Provide user training and guidance to junior technicians.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, with 3–5+ years in desktop or IT support.
• Strong knowledge of Windows, macOS, Microsoft Office, and network fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, DHCP).
• Experience with imaging, deployments, and hardware maintenance.
• Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and time management skills.
• Must be onsite 5 days/week in Sydney; occasional travel to Melbourne.
• Willingness to work occasional nights/weekends.
