We zoeken een Scientific Software Engineer voor ons team in Den Haag.

Ben jij een software-expert die de taal van wetenschappers spreekt? We zoeken een Senior Scientific Software Engineer voor een gespecialiseerd team dat zich richt op maritieme veiligheid.

In deze rol werk je aan de ontwikkeling van simulatiemodellen voor anti-scheepsraketten en het voorspellen van radarsignaturen (zichtbaarheid). Daarnaast simuleer je dreigingsscenario's om marineschepen beter te beschermen. De afdeling houdt zich onder andere bezig met modellen voor radar- en RF-sensoren en tegenmaatregelen. Hiermee levert jouw werk een directe bijdrage aan de internationale maritieme defensie en veiligheid.

Jouw Rol: De Brug

In deze functie schrijf je niet alleen code; je bent de onmisbare schakel tussen twee werelden:

• Wetenschap ↔ Software: Je neemt de leiding op het gebied van softwareontwikkeling binnen het team van wetenschappers dat aan de prototype-software werkt.
• Team ↔ Team: Je fungeert als brug tussen verschillende afdelingen en zorgt ervoor dat iedereen op één lijn zit wat betreft de projectdoelen.

Responsibilities:

Wat ga je doen?

• Workflow Moderniseren: Onze wetenschappers bouwen hun prototypes meestal in Python. Jouw taak is om een naadloos proces en software-ontwerp te creëren, zodat deze ideeën efficiënt en continu kunnen worden omgezet naar productie-software in Java.
• De Kar Trekken: Om dit te bereiken, maak je gebruik van moderne technologieën zoals Agile, DevOps en CI/CD. Je bent de voortrekker op het gebied van software development binnen het wetenschappelijke team.

Requirements:

Wat breng je mee?

• De Juiste Mindset: Je hebt een technische of wetenschappelijke achtergrond (bijv. Wiskunde of Natuurkunde) en hebt kennis van wetenschappelijke software en numerieke wiskunde.
• Technische Tools:
• Je bent zeer vaardig in Python en Java en weet hoe je software moet ontwerpen.
• Je hebt ervaring met moderne methodieken zoals Agile, DevOps en CI/CD.
• Je kunt software ontwikkelen voor zowel Windows als Linux.
• Soft Skills:
• Je durft verantwoordelijkheid te nemen, werkt zelfstandig en kunt complexe technische concepten uitleggen aan mensen uit andere vakgebieden.
• Je bent resultaatgericht en klantgericht.
• Je bent communicatief sterk, gewend om in multidisciplinaire omgevingen te werken en kunt snel schakelen.
