The information technology (IT) Senior Manager will be responsible for the management and administration of all aspects of the firm’s IT infrastructure, including specific attention to server architecture and ensuring business continuity. This includes overseeing the cybersecurity, installation, maintenance and upgrading of hardware and software; managing IT staff; providing technical support to employees as well as creating short and long-term IT strategic plans that meet the firm’s strategic goals.
This role will be based in the Courtice office and will require some travel between the firm’s four offices: Peterborough, Lindsay, Courtice and Cobourg. Must be available for emergency support after hours and on weekends.
Duties and responsibilities
In this leadership role, you will empower teams with the tools and technology they need to do great work. Areas of responsibility include the full range of information systems and telecommunications activities, including determining user requirements, recommending solutions, and leading organization-wide efforts to improve the effective use of technology.
Management
- Manage direct reports, including hiring, performance management, mentoring, and training and development
- Develop, implement and enforce IT policies and procedures, including cybersecurity, data security, disaster recovery, and regulatory compliance
- Develop and maintain IT process documentation and design
- Successfully lead and manage IT projects, including digital transformation initiatives, and AI adoption
- Develop and ensure adherence to departmental budgets
- Provide insight into technology operations utilizing reporting from all available sources
- Ensure delivery of services in accordance with industry best practices
- Design and implement reporting and tracking of firm technology resources
- Analyze systems and identify any potential improvements
- Manage relationships with third-party vendors, including software and hardware providers and external IT consultants
- Monitor most recent technology advances and assess any potential impact
- Remain current on trends and emerging technology
- Remain current on future regulatory requirements as they apply to information technology
- Communicate effectively and concisely with internal customers, vendors and other stakeholders
- Effectively convey IT concepts in clear and concise language with those who have limited IT background or expertise
- Design and deliver IT orientation and training sessions for new and current staff and partners
- Prepare updates, reports and presentations at board level
Qualifications
- Postsecondary university or college education with a degree/diploma in Computer Sciences, Business, Engineering Technology, or a related field
- Certification in one or more of: Microsoft MTA, MCSA, MCSE, CISSP, CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, or CSA+, and/or Azure
- Project Management Professional (PMP) designation an asset
- Minimum of 5 years of practical and demonstrated relevant experience
- Minimum of five years of management experience
- Familiarity with professional services industry is a strong asset

The IT Senior Manager will work in an office environment with normal business hours, extended hours may be required during the firm’s busy season (February – June). Occasional evening or weekend work may be required to perform system maintenance or upgrades. The position will require regular travel to other firm locations or vendor offices.
