Position: Scrum Master

Location: Saint John New Brunswick OR Moncton/Fredericton

Duration: 12 months

Role Overview

Seeking an experienced Scrum Master to lead agile delivery for a large-scale data engineering initiative. This role will be pivotal in enabling cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, compliant, and scalable data solutions for a strategic client engagement. The Scrum Master will act as a leader, ensuring agile practices are followed, removing impediments, and fostering collaboration across engineering, compliance, and client stakeholders.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience (8+ years) as a Scrum master’s in data engineering or analytics projects.
  • Strong understanding of data pipelines, ETL, Azure Synapse, data modelling
  • Excellent facilitation, conflict resolution, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage client-facing communication with executive stakeholders.
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM, PSM) or equivalent agile certification.

The Scrum Master will ensure that the data engineering project is delivered on time, within compliance boundaries, and aligned with client expectations. By fostering agile discipline and transparent communication, this role directly contributes to client satisfaction and long-term partnership success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Agile Facilitation
    • Lead daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and backlog refinement sessions.
    • Coach the team on agile principles, ensuring adherence to Scrum methodology.
  • Delivery Management
    • Drive timely delivery of data pipelines, ETL processes, and data platform enhancements.
    • Track sprint progress, manage dependencies, and escalate risks proactively.
  • Stakeholder Engagement
    • Collaborate with Product Owners, Data Architects, and Client Executives to align priorities.
    • Communicate project status, risks, and outcomes in a clear, client-ready manner.
  • Team Enablement
    • Remove blockers and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
    • Encourage collaboration between data engineers, QA, DevOps, and compliance teams.
  • Governance & Compliance
    • Ensure adherence to enterprise compliance, licensing, and data security standards.
    • Support documentation and audit readiness for client-facing deliverables
