Senior Network Engineer (Routing & Infrastructure)

Take2 Consulting is seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Engineer to support complex, mission-driven network environments. This role focuses on enterprise routing design, implementation, and operational excellence across Cisco and Juniper infrastructures. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, leadership capability, and a passion for building resilient, high-performance networks.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and support enterprise routing architectures leveraging OSPF, ISIS, and BGP to ensure high availability, efficiency, and performance.

• Administer and manage enterprise network switches and routers from Cisco and Juniper, including Cisco IOS and JunOS updates.

• Develop and maintain network documentation including ConOPS, SOPs/MOPs, and detailed network diagrams.

• Serve as an escalation point for advanced routing and network troubleshooting.

• Identify and resolve complex network issues to minimize downtime and maximize reliability.

• Collaborate with reliability and operations teams to enhance monitoring, alerting, and system metrics.

• Contribute to operational excellence by establishing clear procedures and operational processes.

• Support automation initiatives and management toolkits to improve network efficiency.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align network designs with mission and organizational goals.

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.

• Participate in an on-call rotation providing 24/7 operational support, including after-hours on-site support when required.

Basic Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in network engineering.

• Hands-on experience with Juniper routers and switches.

• Strong understanding of routing protocols including OSPF, ISIS, and BGP, with proven troubleshooting and optimization skills.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field.

• CCNP (Cisco) and/or JNCIP (Juniper) certifications.

• Experience managing Juniper SRX platforms, routers, and switches, including JunOS upgrades and configurations.

• Familiarity with Juniper automation and monitoring tools.

• Experience with network automation tools such as Ansible, Python, and Terraform.

• Experience designing, deploying, and administering self-managed MPLS networks.
