- Oxford area (Hybrid - 3 days in office)
- £70,000 base + discretionary bonus
They're looking to hire a Senior Software Engineer to join their engineering team, someone who can combine hands-on development with mentoring and technical leadership.
The Opportunity
This is a hybrid role, ideally requiring three days per week in the office, and offers exposure to a wide range of client projects rather than a single internal product.
You'll be working in regulated, transaction-heavy environments where quality, scalability, and security are critical.
You'll Be Responsible For
- Designing and building solutions using .NET Framework
- Delivering projects centred around payment gateways, integrations, and transactional systems
- Developing front-end applications using modern JavaScript frameworks (Angular or React preferred)
- Deploying and maintaining applications in Microsoft Azure
- Working with containerised environments and Kubernetes
- Collaborating with senior engineers, architects, and client stakeholders
- Owning code quality, best practices, and technical decision-making
- Mentoring junior and mid-level engineers
- 5-10 years' commercial software engineering experience
- Strong expertise in .NET Framework (modern .NET/.NET Core exposure beneficial)
- Experience with Angular or React
- Proven hands-on experience with Azure
- Experience working with Kubernetes
- Background in financial services, ideally with payments exposure
- Experience with payment integrations, gateways, or high-volume transactional systems
- Demonstrated mentoring or technical leadership experience
- Comfortable working in a consultancy or client-facing environment
- Experience with AWS
- Previous consultancy experience
- Strong API and integration skills
- Exposure to regulated or compliance-driven systems
- £70,000 base salary
- Discretionary annual bonus
- Hybrid working model (3 days per week in the office)
