Machine Learning Engineer | Legal Intelligence Platform
Location: London (Hybrid) Role Type: Permanent / Full-Time Tech Stack: Python, PyTorch/TensorFlow, LangChain, Vector DBs, AWS/Azure
The Mission
Join an elite engineering squad building the next generation of "AI Associates." While our Head of AI sets the vision, you will be the one building the engines. You’ll be responsible for developing high-performance ML models that can parse, understand, and reason through millions of complex legal documents with 99.9% accuracy.
What You’ll Do
- Model Development: Build and optimize RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) pipelines to ensure legal queries are answered with grounded, verifiable facts.
- Fine-Tuning: Take open-source foundation models and fine-tune them on proprietary legal datasets to outperform general-purpose LLMs.
- Deployment: Work closely with DevOps to deploy and monitor models in production, ensuring low latency and high scalability.
- Data Engineering: Design robust data pipelines that can handle structured and unstructured legal data while maintaining strict data "air-gapping" for client privacy.
What You Bring
- Hands-on Experience: 3+ years of experience in ML Engineering, specifically working with Natural Language Processing (NLP).
- Code Quality: Exceptional Python skills and experience with modern ML frameworks (PyTorch, Hugging Face).
- Infrastructure Knowledge: Experience with Vector Databases (Milvus, Qdrant, or Pinecone) and cloud-based ML orchestration (SageMaker/Vertex AI).
- Problem Solver: A passion for solving the "hallucination" problem—making AI reliable enough for a courtroom.
