Job Description: Cloud Engineer (Azure)

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Cloud Engineer (Azure) to join a high-performing engineering team that works on modern cloud platforms. In this role, you will design, implement, and optimise Azure-based infrastructure and services that support scalable, secure, and cost-efficient cloud solutions. You will collaborate closely with global engineering, platform, and DevOps teams in an agile environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, deploy, and maintain Azure cloud services aligned with business and platform requirements
• Manage and optimise Azure infrastructure with a focus on performance, scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency
• Implement cloud security controls and compliance standards following best practices
• Work with Azure API Management and API gateway solutions to design, deploy, and monitor APIs
• Build and manage containerised workloads using Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and/or Ansible (REX)
• Support and enhance CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows
• Automate operational tasks using scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, and Shell
• Monitor cloud environments using observability tools and proactively identify optimisation opportunities
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate cloud solutions into the wider IT ecosystem
• Stay up to date with emerging cloud technologies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

Required Skills & Experience

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in a Cloud Engineer / Azure Engineer / DevOps role
• Strong practical experience with Microsoft Azure services
• Experience with:
• Azure API Management (APIM)
• Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
• Azure Functions and Event Hub
• Solid understanding of cloud security, networking concepts, and best practices
• Hands-on experience with Terraform and/or Ansible (REX)
• Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, version control, and DevOps principles
• Proficiency in PowerShell, Python, and Unix/Linux shell scripting
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, agile, and global team environment

Nice to Have

• Exposure to AI/ML platforms or cloud-based AI solutions
• Experience in large-scale enterprise or regulated environments
• Azure certifications such as:
• Azure DevOps Engineer
• Azure Administrator / Architect (or equivalent)
