Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking a talented and passionate AWS Data Engineer / ML Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you will play a key part in designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines and machine learning solutions on the AWS cloud platform. You will be involved in the full project lifecycle, from gathering requirements to deploying and monitoring production systems. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to pre-sales activities, helping to shape and win new business.

Responsibilities:

  • Engineering & Delivery: 

    • Design, develop, and deploy robust and scalable data pipelines using AWS services such as S3, Glue, Lambda, Kinesis, EMR, and Redshift.

    • Build and optimize data lakes and data warehouses to support business intelligence and data analytics initiatives.

    • Develop and implement machine learning models using AWS services such as SageMaker, Comprehend, and Rekognition.

    • Collaborate with data scientists to deploy and operationalize machine learning models.

    • Ensure data quality and integrity throughout the data lifecycle.

    • Implement data governance and security best practices.

    • Stay up-to-date with the latest AWS technologies and best practices.

    • Create and present data visualizations using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Python libraries (e.g., matplotlib, seaborn).

  • Pre-sales: 

    • Contribute to the development of proposals and presentations for potential clients.

    • Participate in client meetings and workshops to understand their needs and challenges.

    • Provide technical expertise and insights to support the sales process.

    • Assist in the creation of proof-of-concept solutions to demonstrate Devoteam's capabilities.


Qualifications

  • Essential: 

    • Minimum 3 years of proven experience as a Data Engineer or ML Engineer with a strong understanding of AWS cloud services.

    • Hands-on experience with data processing frameworks such as Spark and Hadoop.

    • Proficiency in Python or another relevant programming language.

    • Experience with SQL and relational databases.

    • Strong understanding of data warehousing and data modeling concepts.

    • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).

    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

    • Fluent in English and Dutch/French. Mandatory 

  • Desirable: 

    • Experience with machine learning algorithms and techniques.

    • Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

    • AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Data Analytics - Specialty).

    • Experience working in an Agile environment.

    • Contributions to open-source projects.

    • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Python libraries (e.g., matplotlib, seaborn).

    • Prior experience in a client-facing or pre-sales role.
