Your Role And Responsibilities

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior IT Tester to join our QA team. This role involves manual testing of applications, writing and executing test plans and test cases, querying databases using SQL, and identifying and reporting software defects. This is an excellent opportunity to start your career in software testing with hands-on experience in real-world projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform manual testing of web applications.
  • Review requirements and technical specifications to create detailed test plans and test cases.
  • Execute test cases and log results, including functional, regression, and performance testing.
  • Identify, document, and report bugs clearly and accurately using a bug tracking system (Jira).
  • Write and execute basic SQL queries to validate data and perform back-end testing.
  • Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and other QA team members to ensure product quality.
  • Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and other agile ceremonies.
  • Contribute to test documentation and help maintain test environments.

Required Technical And Professional Expertise

  • Basic understanding of the software development lifecycle and QA methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience in manual testing (academic or internship experience acceptable);
  • Ability to write and follow detailed test plans and test cases.
  • Familiarity with bug tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Trello).
  • Knowledge of SQL for querying databases and validating data.
  • Strong attention to detail and good analytical/problem-solving skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills. English is mandatory, French could be a plus;
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
