  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in testing, maintaining, or launching software products.
  • 2 years of experience with software development in Java.
  • Experience in working with one of the following: distributed systems, back-end services, iOS/Android/Web development, data engineering, or machine learning.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • 3 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
  • Experience in developing accessible technologies.

The team is at the forefront of the electric vehicle revolution, building a quality experience for Electric Vehicle (EV) drivers. The team is focused on automotive surfaces from Google Built-In, Android Auto Projected, and Apple CarPlay, and also works on Google Maps for Android and iPhone.The Geo team is focused on building the most accurate, comprehensive, and useful maps for our users, through products like Maps, Earth, Street View, Google Maps Platform, and more. Every month, more than a billion people rely on Maps services to explore the world and navigate their daily lives.

The Geo team also enables developers to use the power of Google Maps platforms to enhance their apps and websites. As they plot a course for the future of mapping, they are solving complex computer science problems, designing beautiful and intuitive product experiences, and improving our understanding of the real world.

Responsibilities

  • Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
  • Write and test product or system development code.
  • Lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to select among available technologies.
  • Design, develop, and maintain services across the full-stack like back-ends (e.g., Java), Android (e.g., Kotlin, Java), iOS (e.g., ObjC), and shared libraries (e.g., C++).
