About The Graduate Software Engineer Job

We’re looking for a Graduate Software Engineer who is eager to learn, curious about how great products are built, and motivated to grow in a supportive engineering environment.

You’ll work across our modern tech stack, contributing to both new feature development and improvements to existing systems, while receiving guidance from experienced engineers.

You’ll join a team that values learning, collaboration and impact. Your work will directly influence the experience of Sonder members and the organisations that rely on us.

What You’ll Do

  • Contribute to the design and development of new features across our backend, frontend or mobile applications
  • Learn Sonder’s architecture, coding standards and delivery practices
  • Write clean, maintainable code with support from senior engineers
  • Use AI-powered code-assistance tools to support learning, accelerate implementation and explore solution approaches
  • Complete assigned support tickets, assisting with investigation, triage and bug resolution
  • Support maintenance of legacy systems while building your understanding of our broader ecosystem
  • Participate in code reviews, sprint ceremonies and collaborative discussions
  • Work closely with product, design and engineering teammates to deliver high-quality outcomes
  • Continually grow your engineering skills through hands-on experience and mentorship

What You Bring

  • A recent degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field
  • Up to 1 year of relevant experience (internships and personal projects welcome)
  • Exposure to at least one programming language such as Kotlin, Java, Swift, TypeScript or Python
  • Experience in using AI coding tools, e.g. GitHub Copilot
  • Motivation to develop cloud engineering skills, including working toward AWS certification as part of Sonder’s engineering development pathway
  • Familiarity with Git and version control workflows
  • A GitHub repo, personal projects or portfolio demonstrating how you learn and build
  • A growth mindset, strong curiosity and willingness to ask questions
  • Ability to work collaboratively and take ownership of your work
