Title: Head of AI - Customer Success
Location: Australia (with APAC remit)
$200-250k base
Consulting
Overview
We are working with a fast-growing boutique consultancy that is redefining how organisations realise value from AI. Rather than leading with tools or platforms, this firm starts with the business problem, identifies where AI and automation genuinely create value, and then designs pragmatic, outcome-driven solutions using the right mix of technologies.
Having successfully launched and scaled an AI practice globally, the business is now looking to establish and grow this capability across Australia and APAC. This role will take ownership of building the regional AI practice from shaping market positioning and client strategy through to delivery, partnerships, and revenue growth.
The Opportunity
This is a senior, market-facing leadership role for someone who is passionate about value-led AI, not selling technology for technology’s sake. You will work closely with clients to understand their most critical business challenges, define success metrics, and design AI-enabled solutions that deliver measurable outcomes often leveraging multiple vendors and platforms.
Initially, the role will be heavily focused on business development and practice establishment, before transitioning into leading delivery, growing teams, and scaling long-term client impact.
Key Responsibilities
AI Practice & Market Leadership
- Establish and scale the AI practice across Australia and APAC.
- Define the AI value proposition, offerings, and go-to-market strategy for the region.
- Act as a visible thought leader in AI, automation, and value-led transformation (events, workshops, client forums).
Client & Value Leadership
- Partner with senior client stakeholders to identify the right problems to solve with AI.
- Translate business objectives into clear AI-enabled outcomes, success metrics, and value cases.
- Design end-to-end solutions that may span multiple vendors and technologies always prioritising value over tools.
- Challenge poor practices and redesign workflows to deliver rapid, sustainable impact.
Business Development & Revenue Growth
- Identify, shape, and close new AI opportunities in collaboration with global teams.
- Own regional pipeline development.
- Lead client workshops, innovation sessions, and executive briefings to generate demand.
- Coordinate delivery of sold engagements, ensuring outcomes are realised.
Delivery & Partner Ecosystem
- Oversee delivery of AI and automation initiatives across sectors such as financial services, insurance, government, education, and industrials.
- Leverage a global ecosystem of technology partners (RPA, AI, conversational AI, workflow, analytics).
- Ensure solutions are adopted, embedded, and sustained within client organisations.
About You Background & Experience
- Senior AI, automation, or digital transformation leader with experience across consulting, vendor, and/or enterprise environments.
- Strong preference for candidates who have worked on the vendor side (e.g. RPA / AI platforms) and understand where single-vendor solutions fall short.
- Experience building or leading an AI, automation, or intelligent transformation practice.
- Deep client-facing experience with C-level stakeholders; trusted advisor rather than product seller.
- Strong understanding of the Australian market and enterprise landscape.
Mindset & Capability
- Obsessed with value creation, not implementations.
- Comfortable saying “this tech is not the right answer” and recommending alternatives.
- Able to connect business problems, operating models, success metrics, and AI solutions.
- Commercially astute, with the ability to drive growth without heavy hand-holding.
- Natural relationship builder with an existing network across AI, industry, and partners.
Ideal Sector Exposure
- Financial services (banking, insurance, superannuation)
- Government / public sector
- Education / universities
- Fintech or regulated industries
- Industrial or large-scale operations
