DevOps Engineer (AWS)

Contract: £500 per day

Duration: Until March, with a strong likelihood of a 12-month extension

Location: Leeds 1-2x/month

Overview

We are looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure on AWS. You will work closely with engineering and product teams to deliver reliable, secure, and high-performance systems in an Agile environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, cloud-based solutions using AWS
• Deploy, manage, and optimise AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and related services
• Build and maintain highly available and high-performance cloud architectures
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated build and deployment
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve infrastructure and application issues
• Ensure cloud security best practices and compliance standards are followed
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver new features
• Continuously improve reliability, performance, and cost efficiency of the platform

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong hands-on experience with AWS, particularly Lambda, EC2, S3, and RDS
• Strong experience building and deploying AWS Lambda functions
• Infrastructure as Code experience using Terraform
• CI/CD experience using GitHub Actions
• Strong Python development skills
• Proven experience building highly available and highly performant systems
• Experience working in an Agile delivery environment

Nice to Have

• Experience with Apigee
• Knowledge of FHIR and HL7 standards
• Exposure to React
