Job Description:
A leading digital agency based in Amsterdam is seeking an experienced Front-End Developer to join their team for a 6-12 month contract. This role will focus on developing microfrontends using React and GraphQL. The ideal candidate will be proficient in modern front-end technologies and practices, and will be an integral part of the agency's dynamic, fast-paced development team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop scalable, high-performance microfrontends using React.
- Implement complex GraphQL queries and mutations to integrate front-end with back-end systems.
- Collaborate with designers, back-end developers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of features.
- Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to the continuous improvement of the front-end framework.
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices for front-end development.
- Ensure cross-browser compatibility and optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
- Maintain and enhance existing front-end components and features, troubleshooting and resolving any issues as they arise.
- Stay updated on emerging front-end technologies, recommending new tools or processes where appropriate.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience with React and GraphQL in a production environment.
- Strong understanding of microfrontend architecture and its implementation in React.
- Experience with state management libraries (e.g., Redux, Context API).
- Familiarity with GraphQL clients like Apollo or Relay.
- Solid knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (ES6+).
- Familiar with build tools like Webpack, Babel, and NPM.
- Experience working with version control systems such as Git.
- Ability to write responsive, mobile-first design code and knowledge of CSS frameworks (e.g., SASS, LESS, Tailwind CSS).
- Good understanding of RESTful APIs and integration of third-party services.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and debug issues effectively.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and within a team.
Desirable Skills:
- Knowledge of TypeScript is a plus.
- Experience with CI/CD tools and processes.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker.
- Previous experience in an agency environment, or working with fast-moving teams.
