About the role:

We are seeking a highly skilled hands-on Enterprise Architect to join our team in Melbourne and drive the technical delivery of highly scalable distributed solutions for Helfie.ai, our AI-powered preventive healthcare platform.

As an Enterprise Architect, you will be the strategic technical anchor for our growing digital platform, translating business ambition into scalable, secure, and future ready architecture. You will champion enterprise wide standards, guide integration across mobile, web, and backend services, and ensure that our technology roadmap aligns with population health goals and regulatory requirements. This role is critical to sustaining the reliability, performance, and ethical integrity of Helfie’s data rich, high volume services.

Key Responsibilities

• Governance & Framework Design – Define and maintain the enterprise architecture framework (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman) that drives architecture repositories, technical roadmaps, and decisionmaking across product, data, and infrastructure domains.
• Strategic Architecture Roadmap – Lead the creation of a multiyear technology roadmap, prioritizing cloud migration, AI integration, data governance, and observability.
• CrossDomain Integration – Architect seamless connectivity between our iOS/Android, web frontend, and JavaPythonRust backend services via WebSocket/REST APIs, event streams, and message queues.
• Data & AI Strategy – Shape data architecture (relational, graph, observability logs) and AI/ML pipelines, ensuring that data models support realtime dashboards, predictive analytics, and clinical decision support.
• Performance & Security – Oversee capacity planning, load and stresstesting frameworks, and embed securitybydesign principles (SecDevOps, compliance audits) throughout the stack.
• Team Leadership – Mentor and coach architecture squads and engineering teams, fostering a culture of autonomy, continuous learning, and engineering excellence.
• Stakeholder Collaboration – Partner with Product, Data, DevOps, Security, and Regulatory teams to align business objectives with architectural feasibility.
• Lifecycle Governance – Institutionalise a gatebased pipeline (Architecture → Dev → Build → Prepare → Production) ensuring that every delivery satisfies architectural standards before promotion to production.
• Continuous Improvement – Keep abreast of emerging technologies, assess their fit for Helfie, and iterate the architecture model to remain competitive in the healthtech space.

Required Skills & Experience

• 10+ years of senior architecture or technical leadership in largescale, distributed systems.
• Experience in Business Architecture and Business Modelling. Including use of Process Modelling and Value Chain Frameworks.
• Strategic Modelling and Strategy Framework experience.
• Development of Enterprise Strategy models
• Development of Technology Strategy models
• Definition and ongoing management of Strategic Business Roadmaps
• Definition and ongoing management of Strategic Technology Roadmaps
• Business Case development experience: including pricing Opportunity Cost, Growth Models, Market and Sales models, Operational Cost Models, and Value Realistion.
• Extensive experience as a stakeholder for Governance across Business Strategy, Technology, Solution Architecture, Security, Data, Risk, Compliance
• Proven expertise in designing scalable, secure microservices architectures
• Experience in cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker).
• Understanding of DevOps practices: CI/CD, IaC (Terraform, Pulumi), observability (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK), and automated compliance checks.
• Experience with data strategy across relational, graph data, and log stores; ability to define ER/graph schemas, data lakes, and data governance policies.
• Familiarity with AI/ML pipeline integration and generative AI tooling in production environments.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor, resolve conflict, and drive highperforming autonomous squads in missioncritical environments.
• Excellent communication skills – able to translate complex architecture concepts to executives and to guide engineers through technical details.

Preferred Experience

• Established practice in enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman, FEAF).
• Regulatory experience in healthcare (HIPAA, GDPR, PIPEDA) or financial services.
• Expertise in graph databases (Neo4j, JanusGraph, GraphDB) and largescale event stores.
• Prior leadership in AIpowered health platforms or outcomesbased analytics.
• Experience with realtime telemetry dashboards and predictive modeling in SaaS products.
• Understanding and possible experience with Block Chain
• Decentralised Architectures and Open source programs
