The Role -

We are seeking a Network & Cybersecurity Project Engineer to join the energy storage team. This is a hands-on, technically diverse role supporting the design, implementation, and commissioning of communication networks for BESS projects. You will work across network engineering, cybersecurity, and industrial automation, ensuring that all systems, from batteries to SCADA and inverter equipment, are integrated securely and efficiently.

The role combines office-based design and documentation with on-site commissioning and troubleshooting, making it ideal for engineers who enjoy seeing projects through from concept to live operation.

Key Responsibilities -

Network Design & Implementation

- Define and document secure network architectures for BESS projects.

- Configure and commission industrial network equipment including Moxa, RedLion, Fortinet firewalls, Cisco switches, fibre, and Ethernet.

- Integrate systems within the network.

Cybersecurity & Compliance

- Apply and enforce cybersecurity standards across all project networks.

- Ensure network architectures meet internal and external compliance requirements.

Automation & SCADA Integration

- Work with SCADA, inverter, and battery management systems to ensure reliable communication.

- Support industrial automation protocols such as MODBUS TCP and TCP/UDP where relevant.

Project Support & Coordination

- Interface with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients during network implementation.

- Support tender preparation and provide technical input for project cost optimization.

Testing & Commissioning

- Develop testing procedures and oversee execution to validate network functionality.

- Provide technical support during commissioning and troubleshoot network issues on-site.

Documentation & Reporting

- Produce high-quality documentation, including network diagrams, test plans, and commissioning reports.

- Maintain clear records of network configurations and cybersecurity compliance measures.

Qualifications & Experience -

Essential

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in related field.

- 3–8 years of relevant experience in network design, OT/ICS, or industrial automation.

- Hands-on experience configuring routers, switches, firewalls, and industrial network equipment (Moxa, RedLion, Fortinet, Cisco, Hirschmann).

- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, VLAN, LAN/WAN, routing, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, SSH, FTP/SFTP, NTP, and network protocols.

- Experience working with Windows and Linux environments (Debian/Ubuntu).

- On-site commissioning experience is highly desirable.

- Professional proficiency in English (B2 or higher).
