Role Summary
We are looking for an experienced Backend Engineer with expertise in Python and/or Node-based projects to join our engineering team. Our ideal candidate has around five years of experience in Backend development and collaborating and contributing creatively and accurately in a fast-paced environment. This is a full-time consultancy. We offer the flexibility to work remotely.

Key Responsibilities
- Working with a team of engineers, designers, and AI specialists to ideate, design, and build a new product
- Writing the backend platform to translate and generate content, connect to external APIs, and receive requests from our user-facing systems
- Managing each feature end-to-end: from initial specs to delivery
- Creating automated tests to ensure the quality of your code
- Mentoring your less experienced teammates, creating opportunities for their growth, and fostering a collaborative culture
- At least 5 years of experience building backend features, ideally in Python and Typescript
- Solid understanding of databases
- Experience building and consuming APIs
- Experience with async programming
- Ability to work independently and cross-functionally to deliver production-ready systems that meet the needs of our customers
- Experience in system design and infrastructure
- A soft spot for functional programming and experience using strong typed languages
- Experience writing distributed systems
- Knowledge of AWS is appreciated
- Experience with TDD
- Experience working with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery
- B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent
