Tesi is now looking for an Analyst Trainee curious about startups, private markets, and research-driven insights to join the Strategy and Development team for a traineeship in autumn 2026.

Your role at Tesi

The strategy and development team produces research-based market insights on the Finnish private equity and venture capital ecosystem. The team turns messy problems to structured analyses and crisp insights on market trends and long-term development of growth companies and private capital. As an Analyst Trainee, you will support the projects by conducting market and ecosystem analysis, structuring qualitative and quantitative insights, and helping translate findings into clear, well-argued presentations and publications. The role emphasizes curiosity, analytical thinking and drawing conclusions that are relevant for both decision-making and public discussion.

During your internship, you will get to dig deeper on data modeling and analysis of growth companies and private equity. Your responsibilities will depend on your skills, motivation and our current needs; former interns have been responsible e.g. of SME survey planning and execution (n=1,470), analyzing defence industry startups, data analytics for the Finnish industrial strategy, and a Finland country stream in a pan-Nordic market study.

You’ll be supported by a team with backgrounds e.g. in strategy consulting, M&A, economics and data analytics. Furthermore, you’ll have state-of-the-art tools such as Databricks, Tableau and various LLM services at your disposal.

Many former interns have stayed in our team after their traineeship, whereas others have landed e.g. in strategy consulting, investment banking or doctoral studies.

This is how Jakob Sandell, Tesi’s Research Manager, describes working in the team:

“My job combines the good parts of strategy consulting, like learning new things every day and working with a highly motivated team, with Tesi-specific highlights such as the long-term development of our data assets and infrastructure and a solid work-life balance. In addition, the results of my work benefit both our investment teams and Finnish society in general.”
