Calling all innovators – find your future at Fiserv.
We’re Fiserv, a global leader in Fintech and payments, and we move money and information in a way that moves the world. We connect financial institutions, corporations, merchants, and consumers to one another millions of times a day – quickly, reliably, and securely. Any time you swipe your credit card, pay through a mobile app, or withdraw money from the bank, we’re involved. If you want to make an impact on a global scale, come make a difference at Fiserv.
At Fiserv, we are modernising our global payment processing platform to enable scalability, resilience and rapid delivery across regions. As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will play a critical role in transforming how we build, deploy and operate software — accelerating our move towards cloud‑native, automated, self‑service delivery capabilities.
This role sits at the core of our modernisation programme, supporting engineering teams to build, deploy and scale services across multiple regional environments while helping to evolve our future tenant and deployment strategy. You will work at the intersection of platform engineering, cloud infrastructure, CI/CD and developer experience — building automation and tooling that empowers teams to deliver with speed, quality and consistency. You will also act as a key advocate for our development community and help nurture our DevOps culture as we transform our platform and way of working.
What you will do:
- Play a lead role in the design and implementation of best‑in‑class build and release technology solutions.
- Design, build and enhance CI/CD pipelines that enable fast, reliable deployment of microservices across regions.
- Support and evolve multi‑tenant and multi‑region deployment models as we transition to a modern environment strategy.
- Build and maintain Kubernetes‑based platforms, delivering secure, scalable and developer‑friendly environments.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Helm to standardise and automate infrastructure provisioning.
- Strengthen observability, monitoring and alerting to proactively identify issues and support high‑quality delivery.
- Improve developer experience through automation, self‑service tooling, reusable patterns and scalable pipelines.
- Embed security and compliance into delivery workflows, ensuring auditability and policy adherence.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to troubleshoot and optimise deployment processes and runtime environments.
- Champion modern DevOps and platform engineering practices throughout the engineering organisation.
- Responsibilities listed are not intended to be all‑inclusive and may be modified as necessary.
What you will need to have:
- Proven experience in DevOps or platform engineering supporting distributed, cloud‑based systems.
- Strong hands‑on experience with AWS and delivering production‑grade cloud services and cloud‑native architectures.
- Practical experience with Kubernetes, container orchestration and service deployment patterns.
- Experience with GitOps tooling such as Argo CD.
- Expertise in Terraform and Helm, with a strong automation mindset.
- Hands‑on experience building and operating CI/CD pipelines, for example GitLab CI and Jenkins.
- Strong Docker, containerisation and automation fundamentals.
- Familiarity with modern observability tooling and best practice.
- A focus on creating scalable, repeatable and secure delivery workflows.
- A passion for enabling development teams and improving tooling, velocity and reliability.
Nice to have:
- Experience working in financial services or other regulated environments.
- Exposure to multi‑region and multi‑tenant platform strategies.
- Experience supporting event‑driven systems (Kafka familiarity).
- Background in legacy‑to‑modern migration initiatives.
- Experience with configuration management tooling such as Ansible, Chef or Puppet.
- Knowledge of compliance automation and security policy enforcement in pipelines.
Who you are:
- A proactive engineer who loves automation, simplicity and enabling others.
- Someone who enjoys working with people and coaching teams along the DevOps journey.
- A systems thinker who considers scalability, maintainability and developer experience.
- Comfortable navigating change and modernising legacy environments step‑by‑step.
- Collaborative, curious and driven by continuous improvement.
