Role Description
This is a full-time on-site Lead Technical Artist role located in Dublin. The Lead Technical Artist will bridge the gap between artistic vision and technical implementation by developing tools, pipelines, and workflows to support asset creation. Responsibilities include working closely with artists and programmers, troubleshooting and optimizing technical processes, and ensuring consistency in visual quality across projects. The role will also involve mentoring junior technical artists and maintaining technical documentation to meet performance and creative goals.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in technical art tools such as Python, MEL, or similar scripting languages.
- Experience in 3D modeling, rigging, and texturing pipelines and tools like Maya, Houdini, or similar software.
- Strong knowledge of optimization techniques, shaders, and material creation for real-time rendering.
- Familiarity with game engines such as Unreal Engine, Unity, or equivalent environments.
- Strong leadership skills, including mentoring and collaboration with artists and developers.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and excellent communication skills.
- Experience working on a shipped AAA game a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Game Development, Digital Arts, or a related field is preferred.
