EPAM is seeking a highly skilled Senior R Developer to join our team in the pharma domain.

In this role, you will contribute to projects that ensure business-critical applications and systems remain up to date, secure, and efficient. The scope includes system upgrades, technical enhancements, NCRs management, and GxP-compliant application delivery. This is an exciting opportunity to apply your R expertise in life sciences, helping business users seamlessly adopt new tools, enhancements, and upgrades for their daily operations.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient applications using R programming
  • Build and optimize data/statistical models, automation scripts, and workflows
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into robust technical solutions
  • Ensure high-quality code through code reviews, testing, documentation, and performance optimization
  • Integrate R-based solutions with enterprise systems, APIs, and cloud platforms
  • Contribute to Agile development processes, ensuring milestone-based and GxP-compliant delivery
  • Mentor junior developers and actively participate in technical design discussions
  • Stay current with developments in the R ecosystem, libraries, and frameworks

 

Requirements

  • 10+ years of software development experience, with a strong focus on R programming
  • Expertise in statistical computing, data analysis, and visualization using R
  • Proven experience in R package development (CRAN/Bioconductor)
  • Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and OOP principles
  • Proficiency in SQL and working with relational databases
  • Experience integrating R with other programming languages (Python, Java)
  • Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP) for deploying R applications
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills

 

Nice to have

  • Experience with machine learning frameworks and statistical modeling
  • Knowledge of Shiny for building interactive dashboards and web applications
  • Familiarity with DevOps tools (CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes) for deploying R solutions
  • Prior experience in Life Sciences, Healthcare, or Financial Services domains

Salary range €3.6K-€5.5K gross, based on your experience and interview results.
