Your area of work:
Join our Post Trade IT team and contribute to the backbone of our post-trading and issuance business. We operate and develop enterprise connectivity middleware IT infrastructure, systems, and applications, driving technology transformation and convergence across platforms.
This internship provides an exceptional opportunity to gain practical experience in Java engineering. You will assist in rebuilding and scaling services for swift message processing, ensuring alignment with existing CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and cloud deployment while adhering to secure software development principles.
Your responsibilities:
- Understand penalty reporting workflow including current limitations in terms of scale and volume.
- Support the team to design and implement alternative solutions and eliminate its current limitations.
- Help document all processes, decisions and algorithms to support team knowledge sharing and maintenance.
- Follow the clean code principles and assure good test coverage. The code should be self-explanatory and documentation should be part of it.
- Consider operational monitoring and logging in early stage of development to maintain system health and performance.
- Collaborate within a team. Follow JIRA workflows for change, delivery and deployment process.
- You are enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree programme in IT with a recognized institution and can provide an internship agreement, OR have graduated with a bachelor's degree or similar for no more than 6 months
- Basic understanding of OOP, Java and SQL. Experience with XML data processing.
- Basic understanding of Java IDE and ability to build and test Gradle projects.
- Proficiency in Shell scripting and basic understanding of Unix-like environments.
- Experience with Git version control.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong willingness to learn new technologies and tools in design and coding ecosystem.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills; ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken) for collaboration with teams in Luxembourg and Czech Republic.
