Our client, a key player in the Space industry, are actively seeking a Space Systems Engineer for their Luxembourg office. This role will play a vital role in the company’s growth and strategy forwards.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Define mission objectives, performance criteria, safety goals, and operational constraints, while developing functional specifications and maintaining documentation
- Conduct mission analysis, including orbital effects, constellation design, launch possibilities, and subsystem budget assessments
- Oversee system design and development, including spacecraft, ground segment, operations environment, and interface specifications
- Manage procurement, supplier coordination, and industry partnerships, ensuring proper testing, integration, and compliance with regulations
- Lead troubleshooting, performance optimization, simulations, and testing across space and ground systems
- Develop algorithms, research solutions, and contribute to proposal writing, funding applications, and technical documentation
- Perform project management tasks, risk assessment, and reporting, while coordinating with ESA, partners, and customers for mission execution
- Oversee AIT activities, qualification campaign and environmental tests
Your profile:
- 2-3 years of experience in a similar role
- Minimum 1 year of experience in mechanical and/or electrical design of small satellite systems in industry or academia (title will vary based on seniority)
- Hands-on experience with the mechanical and/or electrical design, AIT/AIV processes for small satellite systems in industry or academia
- Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering or a related field from a recognized institution.
- Familiarity with ECSS standards
- Knowledge of spacecraft operations and associated ground systems is preferred.
- Experience working on CubeSat projects
