Our client, an established player in the financial sector, is seeking a Fullstack Java Developer to join their team. This role sits within a highly collaborative, cross-functional Agile team and will work on building modern, cloud-native applications across both on-prem and AWS environments.

This is a 6 month contract, with potential for extension - hybrid 3 days a week in downtown Toronto ( walking distance from Union station).

What you’ll do

• Build and deliver full-stack features (front-end and back-end) for a document services platform
• Develop using React, Java, Kotlin, Spring, Hibernate
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute across the SDLC
• Perform code reviews and uphold engineering best practices
• Design and implement automated testing (unit, integration, performance)
• Deploy and manage services on AWS in a secure, cost-effective way

What you bring

• 7+ years of software engineering experience building web and backend services
• Experience with enterprise environments a must
• Strong experience with Java and Node.js
• 5+ years with React / Redux
• 4+ years deploying services to AWS (S3, ECS, Fargate, API Gateway, IAM, CloudFormation)
• Experience with Docker and containerized applications
• Strong SQL skills; experience with PostgreSQL preferred
• NoSQL experience (ElasticSearch) is a plus
• Comfortable in Agile teams; collaborative, self-driven, and detail-oriented
