Senior Android Engineer (Kotlin / RxJava)
Location: Scarborough
Work arrangement: (Hybrid) 2 days in office – Wed and Fridays
Contract Duration: 6 months with high possibility of extension
Reason to bring resources: For brand new project.
Business group: CCA Retail Digital Engineering – Develop and support online and mobile banking platforms
Initiative: Faster Payments - Guyana, Barbados initiative. The contractor will be working on existing backlogs for mobile.
Typical Day in Role:
•Analyze highly complex business requirements; generate technical specifications to design or redesign complex software components and applications
•Act as an expert technical resource for modeling, simulation and analysis efforts
•Leverage industry best practices to design, test, implement and support a solution
•Assure quality security and compliance requirements are met for supported area
•Be flexible and thrive in an evolving environment
•Adapt to change quickly and adjust work accordingly in a positive manner
•The majority of time will be focused on the Wave Mobile app project, but there could be some occasional ad hoc work
Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:
1) 5+ years of experience in Android development
2) 5+ years of experience in Kotlin development
3) 3+ years of experience with RxJava + OkHttp + Retrofit – demonstrated in recent project work
4) 3+ years of experience with MVP and MVVM architectures
5) 3+ years of experience in accessibility and testing
Nice-To-Have Skills:
- 3+ years of experience with GitFlow, Bitbucket
- Google PlayStore app launch experience
- Prior FI / Banking experience preferred
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or a related field required

The best candidate is a hands-on developer with direct experience building financial and fintech applications.
Candidate review and selection:
2 rounds
1st – Codility test 90 mins duration – Candidate will receive instructions during the interview online
2nd round Technical questions based on previous experience -1 hour duration with senior managers -Online.
