We are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead and empower a team of high-performing software engineers building full-stack applications with Next.js and TypeScript (frontend), Node.js and TypeScript (backend), and MySQL as the primary database. This role blends deep technical leadership with people management and strategic planning in a cloud-native, serverless environment. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong engineering expertise, mentoring abilities, and a proven history in delivering scalable, reliable software solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide technical leadership and architectural direction for Next.js, Node.js, TypeScript, RESTful APIs, and MySQL-based solutions.
• Mentor, coach, and professionally develop engineers; build an inclusive, collaborative, and high-performance team culture.
• Oversee agile processes, project planning, sprint execution, and delivery management to ensure timely and high-quality results.
• Partner with product & leadership team to define the technical roadmap, ensuring engineering initiatives are aligned with business priorities and long-term strategy.
• Identify technical and delivery risks early, propose mitigation strategies, and ensure resilience in engineering execution.
• Lead code review, quality assurance, CI/CD pipeline optimization, and drive best practices in cloud-native development.
• Promote innovation by evaluating and implementing emerging technologies and frameworks (including AI and Infrastructure as Code).
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, UX, and stakeholders to align engineering goals with broader business objectives.
• Oversee database design, scalability, performance, and reliability strategies in MySQL; introduce best practices in data architecture and security.
• Facilitate integration of RESTful, GraphQL, and modern API-led designs for scalable and extensible applications.
• Track and report progress, resource allocation, and key performance indicators; adapt plans and resolve risks to ensure project success.
• Support career progression through structured feedback, growth plans, and performance evaluations.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years hands-on engineering experience (ideally with Next.js, Node.js, TypeScript, MySQL), including 3+ years managing teams.
• Deep understanding of Agile/Scrum delivery, full-stack architectures, RESTful API and database design, and scaling distributed systems in cloud platforms (preferably AWS).
• Proven ability to mentor, develop, and inspire engineers in collaborative, fast-paced environments.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Bonus Qualifications:

• Experience leading serverless/cloud-native teams on AWS (Lambda, RDS/Aurora, S3, etc.).
• Familiarity with GraphQL, AI applications, and infrastructure automation (Terraform/AWS CloudFormation).
• Open-source contributions or technical community involvement.
• Experience with performance monitoring, observability, and security best practices.
