Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams and system architects to deliver product features from requirements analysis through design, implementation, testing, and deployment.
- Design, implement, and unit test embedded software components primarily in C/C++.
- Verify and validate software systems on target hardware, ensuring performance, reliability, and compliance with requirements.
- Provide ongoing software maintenance and technical consultancy to users of deployed systems.
- Continuously develop and adopt new skills, tools, and techniques to improve software quality and reduce development time and effort.
- Contribute to the definition and roadmap of future products and platforms.
- Enhance software infrastructure to meet performance, scalability, and reliability metrics.
- Drive data-informed decisions through metrics, experimentation, and hands-on experience.
- Own technical problems end-to-end, considering user experience, data models, scalability, operability, and long-term maintainability.
- Mentor team members and contribute to the technical growth of individuals and the overall engineering team.
- Help shape the long-term technical vision, maintaining high engineering standards aligned with business objectives.
- Influence engineering culture by challenging the status quo, thinking differently, and fostering curiosity and innovation.
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in embedded systems software development using RTOS and/or Embedded Linux.
- Strong understanding of low-level device drivers (e.g. CAN, UART, SPI).
- Solid programming expertise in C/C++.
- Good understanding of unit testing methodologies for embedded systems.
- Strong curiosity and appetite for learning, with the ability to quickly research, prototype, test, and demonstrate new ideas.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, flexible, and innovative environment.
- Experience working in Agile development environments and delivering embedded products from power-on to full system functionality.
- Hardware-aware: able to read schematics, data sheets, and interface specifications.
- Strong interest in space, satellites, and remote imaging technologies.
