About the GenAI Team:
The GenAI (Generative AI) team is at the forefront of applying the latest advancements in artificial intelligence to optimize customer experience, streamline operations, and drive digital transformation within GPC. We leverage state-of-the-art AI techniques, such as natural language processing (NLP), and generative models, to develop cutting-edge products and solutions.
Position Purpose:
As a Senior Frontend Engineer, you will be exploring and implementing software solutions utilizing Generative AI. You will collaborate with a talented team to design and build innovative products for customers of the world’s largest automotive and industrial replacement parts distributor. Your creativity and technical expertise will be crucial in crafting visually appealing and functional designs that enhance user experience and engagement. Working closely with UX designers and product managers, you will ensure that user interfaces align with our product strategy and meet our business goals.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain reusable and efficient JavaScript/React code.
- Collaborate with back-end developers and Data Scientists to integrate UI components with APIs and databases.
- Participate actively in user testing and incorporate feedback to refine designs and improve user experience.
- Contribute to our design system to ensure consistent design across all digital touchpoints.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, development, and data science, to ensure seamless design delivery.
- Stay updated on the latest frontend trends and technologies, integrating new ideas to innovate and ensure product competitiveness.
- Optimize web applications for speed and performance. This may involve minimizing page load times, reducing HTTP requests, and implementing other performance-enhancing techniques.
- Implement and maintain automated testing to detect regressions and issues early in development.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
- At least 4 years experience as a Frontend Developer.
- Proficient in JavaScript and React.
- Familiarity with frontend testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, Mocha, Cypress)
- Experience working in Cloud technologies (GCP preferably).
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, GitHub, and GitHub Actions.
- Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
