Position Overview:

We are seeking a motivated Machine Learning Intern to join our team and contribute to cutting-edge security and user experience initiatives at WeChat. You will work on three high-priority projects involving graph neural networks, time-series anomaly detection, and large language model fine-tuning. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience with real-world ML applications at scale while working with experienced engineers and researchers.

Responsibilities

• As a Machine Learning Intern, you will contribute to our team's efforts in exploring and implementing advanced ML solutions for WeChat's security and content moderation systems.
• Focus on GNN applications for malicious account detection and community discovery, where you'll help design graph structures, test diffusion strategies, and validate models in production scenarios.
• Optimizing time-series anomaly detection models to identify suspicious patterns in registration and login behaviors across different security contexts.
• Participate in fine-tuning large language models for customer complaint and report classification, ensuring our systems stay current with evolving definitions and categories through data preparation, model experimentation, and performance evaluation.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of work experience equipped with a Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics or related fields with strong Python programming skills and experience with deep learning frameworks like PyTorch or TensorFlow
• You should have foundational knowledge of graph neural networks, time-series analysis, and natural language processing, along with familiarity with model training, evaluation, and optimization techniques
• Experience with clustering algorithms, similarity metrics, and statistical analysis would be valuable. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities are essential, as is the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the team.
• Any prior experience with LLM fine-tuning, LoRA, or security-related ML applications would be considered a plus.
• Self-driven, innovative, collaborative, with good communication and presentation skills, able to translate between business and technical audiences
• Fluency in both English and Mandarin to deal with international stakeholders and stakeholders who are based in HQ
