Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Network L2 Support Engineer to join our IT Infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will provide second-level support for network operations, ensuring the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of network systems that support core organizational functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve incidents and service requests related to LAN/WAN, firewalls, switches, routers, and wireless infrastructure.
- Escalate complex issues to L3 support or vendor teams as necessary.
- Perform routine maintenance and updates on network devices and services.
- Work with ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Remedy) to manage and track incidents and changes.
- Support network implementations and upgrades in coordination with project and engineering teams.
- Maintain documentation for network topology, configurations, and processes.
- Monitor network performance and generate periodic reports for analysis and improvement.
- Assist in maintaining security standards, including firewall policies and VPN configurations.
- Provide support during planned maintenance and unexpected outages, including participation in on-call rotation if applicable.
- Liaise with ISPs and third-party vendors for troubleshooting and service management.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2–5 years of hands-on experience in network support or administration.
- Solid understanding of networking protocols and concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, etc.).
- Experience with enterprise networking equipment (Cisco, Juniper, HP, etc.).
- Familiarity with firewalls, VPNs, and wireless access point configurations.
- Working knowledge of monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios).
- Basic understanding of ITIL framework and service management processes.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
Preferred Certifications (Not Mandatory):
- CCNA or CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Associate/Professional)
- CompTIA Network+
- ITIL Foundation
