Role Description – AWS Cloud Engineer (Java Backend Developer)


We are looking for an AWS Cloud Engineer with strong backend development expertise in Java to design, build, and operate scalable, secure, and high-performance applications on AWS. The role involves backend service development, cloud infrastructure integration, and supporting real-time, data-intensive systems.


Key responsibilities

  • Design and develop backend microservices using Java
  • Build and deploy cloud-native applications on AWS (EC2, EKS, Lambda, S3, RDS, DynamoDB).
  • Develop RESTful APIs and event-driven services for high-scale systems.
  • Integrate backend services with AWS managed services and messaging systems (Kafka, SQS, SNS).
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CICD
  • Ensure application security, scalability, availability, and performance.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot production systems using CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and logs.
  • Collaborate with DevOps, frontend, and architecture teams for end-to-end delivery.
  • Follow best practices for code quality, testing, and documentation.


Mandatory Skills

  • Strong proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS core services (EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, VPC).
  • Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (EKS/Kubernetes).
  • Knowledge of REST APIs, JSON, authentication mechanisms (OAuth, JWT).
  • Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, DynamoDB).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD, Git, and automated deployments.
  • Experience with AWS IoT Core, IoT FleetWise, and fleet/telemetry data pipelines.
  • Experience with Apache Flink (stateful processing, windows, checkpoints).
  • Knowledge of MQTT, JSON/Avro, time-series telemetry data.

Preferred (Automotive Background)

  • Experience in Automotive / Connected Vehicle / Telematics / Fleet Management platforms.
  • Understanding of vehicle data, IoT ingestion, and real-time telemetry.
  • Exposure to OTA, diagnostics, remote vehicle services, or digital key systems.
  • Knowledge of automotive cybersecurity and compliance is a plus.


Nice to Have

  • Experience working on Connected Vehicle, Telematics, or Fleet Management platforms.
  • AWS Certifications such as Solutions Architect or DevOps Engineer are a plus.
  • Exposure to multi-account AWS environments, cloud governance, and large-scale production systems.
