Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement large-scale software projects.
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code primarily in Python.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
- Provide guidance and support to junior developers, aiding in their professional development.
- Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
- Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs.
- Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of professional software development experience.
- Extensive experience with Python and familiarity with its ecosystems.
- Demonstrated experience in building large, complex software systems.
- Strong familiarity with industry-standard design patterns and best practices.
- Fluent in English, with strong communication skills.
- Solid understanding of the full software development life cycle.
- Experience in multiple programming languages and paradigms is a plus.
- Knowledge of HPC systems is a plus.
- Experience with simulation and modeling software systems is a plus.
- Enjoy building large-scale software systems end to end and take pride in clean, maintainable Python code.
- Enjoy mentoring junior engineers and contributing to a collaborative, team-first culture.
- Can work full-time on-site in Lausanne.
- You’re uncomfortable working in a fast-moving startup where priorities can evolve quickly.
- You’re early in your career and don’t yet have experience with large, complex software systems.
- You prefer minimal collaboration and don’t enjoy cross-functional teamwork with hardware, research or scientific teams.
