This is your opportunity to join our team of forward-thinking, change-making individuals. Operating at the intersection of health and tech, you'll help us shape the future of healthcare.
Our Mission
Healthengine’s mission is to improve access to healthcare by helping Australians find and connect with all care providers. We strive to achieve this through Australia’s leading healthcare marketplace, bringing together over 4 million active Australians, and more than 10 thousand practitioners that are powered by our technology - and growing.
We’re all patients, right? So, it’s easy to get behind a mission that seeks to improve the healthcare experience for all Australians.
The Gig
We are looking for an Engineering Team Lead to join our Mobile team. Your primary purpose is to act as the lead in our mobile application squad, both as a technical lead but also as a mentor to more junior engineers. You will represent the mobile squad to the rest of the business and drive value to one of our fastest growing user cohorts.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with product managers, engineers, and engineering managers to transform product requirement descriptions into technical implementation plans, sizing, and final roadmap prioritisation
- Work with engineers to identify and scope technical opportunities to increase delivery velocity, app security, and operational excellence
- Delivering high quality individual contributions as a senior mobile engineer (typically a 50/50 split between coding and team management)
- Own and manage the Google/Apple release process
- Work with both Android and iOS engineers to create a user-friendly app used by thousands of Australians.
- Manage, mentor, and develop the engineers in their team. Celebrate the successes of the team and always look for ways to improve.
You're the kind of person who takes accountability in a fast-paced, autonomous and flexible environment. Fast may be your default (like us!) but you never, ever compromise on what’s important, willing to take a steady, more informed approach when it comes to maintaining the trust of our team and customers. You handle change like a pro, and continuous improvement is a way of life. You are not afraid to speak up and share your thoughts respectfully, with the intention of making positive change. You take initiative and drive your own learning journey without waiting for someone to point you in the right direction. And ultimately, you care: about people, health and innovation.
You might be an experienced engineer, used to tech leading initiatives, looking for the next step in your career, or you may already be experienced in managing people. Either way, this role will provide experience in both.
Experience you’ll bring:
- 4+ years as a professional native app developer
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or comparable experience.
- Senior-level knowledge in either iOS/Swift or Android/Kotlin and working ability in the other.
- As a functional lead, you must demonstrate an innate ability to influence and drive positive outcomes with multiple stakeholders.
- Professional experience delivering native applications to a high traffic user base.
- Experience leading a team in an agile environment (Scrum/Kanban)
- Experience with booking or dynamic products or consumer platform businesses is highly desirable
