Profectus is seeking Expressions of Interest from experienced Network engineering professionals interested in supporting Defence and national security environments through the delivery, sustainment, and operation of secure, resilient network infrastructure.

Our clients operate complex, high-availability networks that support training, operational readiness, and mission-critical activities across multiple locations. Opportunities may involve working within multidisciplinary ICT teams responsible for network operations, deployment, configuration, assurance, and continuous improvement in sensitive and regulated environments.

Potential areas of contribution may include:

• Supporting Defence-managed network environments, including deployed and fixed infrastructure
• Monitoring network connectivity, device health, and link states, and reporting on incidents or degradation
• Configuring and administering routing, switching, and firewall platforms under formal change control
• Troubleshooting complex network faults in collaboration with peer technical teams
• Supporting collaboration services, including voice and video solutions, across secure networks
• Managing boundary interfaces and ensuring compliance with approved security controls and ATO conditions
• Contributing to configuration management activities, including CMDB updates and CI state changes
• Applying IT service management practices, including incident, change, and problem management
• Contributing to technical documentation, knowledge bases, and design artefacts
• Participating in exercises, shift routines, or deployment activities where required

Skills and experience of interest

Essential experience:

• Demonstrated experience in network engineering within enterprise or operational ICT environments
• Strong knowledge of routing, switching, and firewall technologies (e.g. Cisco IOS or equivalent)
• Experience operating within structured ITSM / ITIL-aligned service environments
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues end-to-end
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage constructively with technical peers and ICT leadership
• Professional conduct aligned to Defence or Government values and expectations

Qualifications and certifications (highly regarded):

• Service management framework certification (e.g. ITIL)
• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or equivalent
• Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or higher (desirable)
• Relevant tertiary or vocational qualifications in networking, ICT, or a related discipline

Desirable experience:

• Experience working in Defence, national security, or other high-assurance environments
• Exposure to deployable or exercise-based ICT environments
• Familiarity with collaboration technologies, including VoIP and VTC
• Understanding of Defence security frameworks and secure handling of classified information
• Experience contributing to technical governance, standards, or process improvement initiatives
