Role / Title: L2 Support Engineer – Telecom OSS

Location: Helsinki, Finland

Hiring Type: Freelance / B2B


Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain HCL Domino application health, including server tasks, logs, replication status, and agent schedules; perform incident triage, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), implement fixes or workarounds, and maintain KEDB and operational runbooks.
  • Lead and coordinate major incident bridges, collaborating with Domino administrators, application owners, and integration teams; provide timely and clear communication on impact, progress, and resolution timelines.
  • Enforce role-based access control (RBAC) through Domino ACLs; implement field-level data protection mechanisms such as masking and encryption, and maintain comprehensive audit trails for access and change events.
  • Support Privacy Impact Assessments (PIA), maintain data processing inventories, and prepare audit evidence for internal and external compliance reviews.
  • Manage controlled changes to HCL Domino 12 design components (Forms, Views, Agents), environment configurations, and package deployments across multiple environments.
  • Develop and implement fixes, enhancements, and support utilities using LotusScript, Java (Domino Java APIs), and JavaScript (XPages or Node.js sidecar services for integrations).
  • Handle complex L2/L3 support tickets by providing reproducible defect cases, logs, and test scripts; validate vendor or engineering patches prior to deployment.
  • Administer and periodically review Domino ACLs and roles to ensure least-privilege access; manage signer IDs, certificates, and cross-certification processes.


Required Skills:

  • Strong hands-on experience with HCL Domino 12 / Lotus Notes operations, including server tasks, replication, ACL management, and design elements.
  • Proven expertise in LotusScript development and troubleshooting, including Agents, scheduled jobs, structured logging, and error handling.
  • Working knowledge of Java (Domino Java APIs) and JavaScript (XPages / Node.js sidecars) for application fixes, integrations, and support tooling.
  • Solid understanding of privacy and security controls, including RBAC implementation, audit logging, and data classification (Personal, Traffic, Location data).
  • ITIL-aligned L2 support experience, covering incident management, RCA documentation, problem management, and participation in change governance (CAB).
  • Strong understanding of Domino data and directory concepts, including NSF design, views and indexes, Notes Address Book (names.nsf), device identifiers (serial/MAC), and barcode/QR/RFID data handling.
  • Experience with observability and performance monitoring, including log analysis, agent performance profiling, capacity planning for Domino servers, and familiarity with SLOs and error budgets.


Good to Have

  • Experience integrating with ServiceNow or JIRA for ticket management and CMDB updates.
  • Knowledge of TM Forum frameworks (eTOM) and OSS inventory management principles.
  • Scripting skills for operational automation (Bash, PowerShell, or Python) and exposure to lightweight CI/CD pipelines for packaging and deploying design elements.
  • Exposure to barcode and RFID hardware ecosystems (e.g., Zebra, Honeywell) and mobile device management (MDM/EMM) solutions.
