Functional Analyst – Client Facing Analysis
Location: Luxembourg

Role context
As part of a large-scale regulatory and fiscal transformation program, our client is looking for an experienced Functional Analyst to join the Client Facing Analysis team within an international banking environment.
You will contribute to high-visibility initiatives impacting payment systems, playing a key role in translating business needs into robust functional solutions while ensuring regulatory compliance.
Your responsibilities
As a Functional Analyst, you will:
- Gather, analyze, and formalize business requirements related to payment systems
- Translate business needs into functional specifications, EDBs, and user stories
- Support the evolution of end-to-end payment journeys, including front-, middle-, and back-office processes
- Collaborate closely with IT, Architecture, Security, and Compliance teams
- Contribute to system migrations, modernization programs, and regulatory implementations
- Prepare and execute functional testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- Draft test scenarios and support users during testing phases
- Produce clear and comprehensive functional documentation and ensure effective knowledge transfer
Functional expertise
- Strong knowledge of banking payment systems (SEPA, credit transfers, direct debits, etc.)
- Solid understanding of front-to-back banking processes
- High awareness of regulatory and compliance requirements in payments
Technical skills
- Proven experience writing functional and business specifications
- Experience with Agile/Scrum and/or V-Model methodologies
- Hands-on experience with JIRA, Confluence, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Experience using BPMN / UML modeling tools
- Strong ability to analyze complex process flows and data models
- Good working knowledge of SQL
