Senior Scrum Master & Agile Coach, 32 - 40 hours per week, Hengelo, Hybrid

Are you a passionate Agile leader who thrives on guiding teams to their full potential?

Do you have a knack for fostering collaboration, resolving challenges, and truly maturing agile teams?

If so, we're looking for you!

We're not just seeking a Scrum Master; we're searching for an influential Agile Coach who will elevate your teams to new heights of self-organization and continuous improvement. You'll be instrumental in shaping the future of our combat management system, contributing to a platform that will define our products for the next three decades.

About The Opportunity

This is a dual-impact role where you'll serve as both a Senior Scrum Master and an Agile Coach. You'll be embedded within two multidisciplinary Agile teams, where you'll directly support the development and testing of our critical infrastructure platform.

These teams own the entire development chain, from requirements analysis to validation and demonstration of product status.

Beyond your team-level contributions, you'll be a catalyst for change at the department level, proactively fostering an agile mindset and way of working across our department. This will involve close collaboration with fellow Scrum Masters and stakeholders to drive agile adoption and continuous improvement.

A key aspect of your role will be leveraging your exceptional social and coaching skills to:

  • Empower teams to embrace self-organization and accountability.
  • Mentor and develop team members, enhancing their skills and fostering a culture of continuous learning.
  • Facilitate open communication and effective collaboration within and across teams.
  • Navigate and resolve complex interpersonal and process-related challenges with empathy and strategic thinking.

You'll also play a pivotal role in planning and facilitating Program Increment (PI) events, ensuring seamless collaboration and alignment across the organization.

What We're Looking For

You are more than just experienced; you are a driven, results-oriented leader who understands that true success comes from focusing on the human side of agile. Your passion for Agile is evident in your proactive approach to personal and team development.

Your expertise will include:

  • Senior Scrum Mastery: A proven track record of coaching and developing teams and Product Owners in self-organization, ownership, and continuous learning. You intuitively understand how to guide teams toward autonomy and high performance.
  • Agile Coaching & Mentorship: A deep commitment to maturing teams, helping them navigate challenges, improve their processes, and unlock their collective potential. Your ability to inspire and guide is paramount.
  • Large-Scale Agile Frameworks: Comprehensive understanding and practical experience with various Large-Scale Agile frameworks, including their roles, events, and artifacts. You're adept at implementing and managing Scrum processes (sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, retrospectives) to maximize team effectiveness.
  • Data-Driven Improvement: The ability to analyze and interpret sprint metrics, burndown/burnup charts, and velocity reports to identify trends, pinpoint areas for improvement, and drive data-backed decisions for enhanced team performance.
  • Exceptional Facilitation: Masterful skill in facilitating engaging and productive meetings, workshops, and discussions that foster collaboration, enable effective problem-solving, and champion continuous improvement. You can guide conversations to achieve desired outcomes while ensuring all voices are heard.
  • Conflict Resolution & Team Dynamics: A sophisticated understanding of techniques for resolving conflicts within teams, maintaining high morale, and fostering a productive, cohesive environment. Your emotional intelligence will be key.
  • Strategic Backlog Management: Vigilance in safeguarding the Sprint Backlog, ensuring it remains focused on prioritized work items and that teams can deliver committed work without scope creep, on time, and with high quality.
  • Clear Communication & Documentation: The ability to create and maintain clear, concise documentation for processes, decisions, and project progress. You can articulate complex ideas simply and effectively.

To thrive in this role, flexibility and the ability to communicate fluently in English with all types of stakeholders (technical, management) are essential. You hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, IT Service Management, or a comparable field.
