We are looking for a Senior Backend Developer with strong expertise in Java and Spring Boot to join a cloud-based, microservices-driven environment. The ideal candidate has solid experience with GCP and/or AWS, containerized applications, and modern backend architectures, and is comfortable working in Agile teams.

This role follows a hybrid model, with at least 2 days per week on-site in Lisbon, and requires fluent English.

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
• Build and evolve microservices architectures with high scalability and resilience.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs and ensure high-quality integration with frontend and external systems.
• Deploy and operate services using cloud platforms (GCP and/or AWS) and Kubernetes.
• Apply reactive programming using WebFlux / Mono where appropriate.
• Collaborate in Agile development environments, participating in planning, reviews, and continuous improvement.
• Ensure code quality, performance, security, and maintainability through best practices and reviews.

• 5+ years of backend development experience with Java and strong hands-on expertise in Spring Boot.
• Proven experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and/or Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Solid understanding of microservices architecture.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Docker.
• Strong experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs.
• Experience working in Agile environments.
• Experience with reactive Java using WebFlux / Mono.

• Familiarity with workflow engines (e.g. Camunda or similar).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native deployment practices.
• Experience with cloud-scheduled jobs, tasks, or functions.
• Experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases.

• English & Portuguese: Fluent
