Position Overview
The Store Assistant supports daily store operations by ensuring accurate handling of materials, assisting in inventory control, and maintaining compliance with company procedures. This role is critical in supporting smooth warehouse and store functions, contributing to operational efficiency, safety, and customer satisfaction. Work under the direction of the Storeman, Logistics Officer, in providing quality proofed material receiving, storing and distribution services.
Roles and Responsibility.
Responsibilities
Receiving and Inspection
- Assist in unloading, checking, and recording incoming goods (Spare Parts / HAZMAT Materials and petroleum, liquids and oils (POL).
- Verify quantities and quality against delivery notes and purchase orders.
- Report discrepancies, damages, or shortages immediately to the Logistics Team.
- Support cross-site logistics functions, as detailed by the Logistics Team. (External and internal storage areas).
Storage and Organization
- Ensure proper labeling, racking and placement of items in designated storage areas.
- Maintain orderly and accessible storage systems to support quick retrieval.
- Follow FIFO (First-In, First-Out) and other inventory rotation practices.
Issuing and Dispatch
- Support in issuing spare parts/materials, and HAZMAT materials against authorized requisitions.
- Prepare items for dispatch, ensuring accuracy and compliance with documentation.
- Assist in packaging and securing items for safe transport.
Inventory Control
- Update stock records in ERP (Oracle) under supervision.
- Assist in cycle counts, stock reconciliations, and audit preparations.
- Monitor stock levels and alert storeman of low or critical inventory.
Housekeeping and Support
- Keep store areas organized, clean, and free of obstructions.
- Assist in maintaining tools, equipment, and storage infrastructure.
- Provide general support to Storeman and other team members as required.
Compliance and Safety
- Adhere to QHSE, COSHH, and company safety standards at all times.
- Maintain clean and hazard-free storage areas.
- Use appropriate PPE and follow safe handling procedures for HAZMAT or sensitive items.
- Carry out basic risk assessments of storerooms, movement, and all other Logistics activities.
Academic Qualifications
- High School or Diploma
Professional Qualifications
- Basic Knowledge of SAP/Oracle
Experience
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience of working in a warehouse and storage facility
- Familiarity with inventory handling and documentation.
Other Skills
- English written and verbal skills
- Physically Fit
- Capable of working in a multi-cultural environment
- UAE driver's license
- Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
- Strong teamwork and communication abilities.
- Ability to follow instructions and adapt to operational needs.
