We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer to join a growing IT services team based in Buford, GA. This is a fully onsite, client-facing role supporting school, government, and enterprise environments. The ideal candidate is hands-on, adaptable, and comfortable working across a wide range of networking technologies and project-based implementations.

Why This Role

  • Work on diverse network projects involving firewalls, routing and switching, wireless, and virtualization
  • Join a small, close-knit IT services team (approximately 19 employees) with opportunities to expand technical depth
  • Minimal travel (approximately 20%), primarily within Georgia, with occasional overnight trips for implementations
  • Direct client impact with exposure to evolving and emerging technologies

Key Responsibilities

  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot network environments including routing, switching, VLANs, and wireless
  • Provide onsite and remote support for networking, security, and infrastructure-related issues
  • Implement and support firewalls, security solutions, and endpoint protection platforms
  • Work with virtualization technologies including VMware, Hyper-V, and Nutanix
  • Collaborate on project-based initiatives such as upgrades, migrations, and new deployments
  • Provide occasional after-hours support during scheduled implementations

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on networking experience across wireless, routing/switching, and firewall technologies
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and core networking protocols
  • Direct experience working with Cisco and Fortinet technologies
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices, antivirus solutions, and endpoint security
  • Exposure to virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix) and cloud-based environments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, Network+, Fortinet NSE 4, Palo Alto, or Nutanix
  • Prior experience working within a VAR, MSP, or Professional Services environment
  • Broader exposure to cloud solutions and advanced virtualization architectures
