Our client in the retail sector is looking to hire an Omani Network Administrator. The Network Administrator is responsible for the effective provisioning, installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of the organization’s IT infrastructure. This role ensures high availability, security, performance, and integrity of servers, networks, email systems, and related hardware and software. The position also supports disaster recovery planning, IT security enforcement, vendor coordination, and end-user support.


Key Responsibilities


  • Administer, configure, and maintain Windows Servers, Active Directory, FSMO roles, and core IT infrastructure
  • Install, configure, and support LAN, WLAN, WAN, Internet connectivity, and remote site networks
  • Manage and maintain Cisco routers, switches, wireless access points, and network performance
  • Configure, administer, and troubleshoot Check Point firewalls, VPNs, and security policies
  • Administer and maintain Microsoft Exchange email servers and ensure high availability
  • Implement, update, and enforce IT security policies, access controls, and compliance standards
  • Monitor system and network performance, availability, and capacity utilization
  • Perform regular data backups, restoration testing, and disaster recovery planning
  • Manage DR site operations including server replication and failover readiness
  • Conduct patch management, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing
  • Manage antivirus systems, security updates, and generate security incident reports
  • Provide Level 2/3 desktop, server, and network support to internal users
  • Maintain and audit IT asset inventory including servers, systems, printers, and network devices
  • Coordinate with vendors, AMC providers, and internal stakeholders for upgrades and migrations
  • Research new technologies and recommend improvements to infrastructure and security
  • Maintain system documentation, network diagrams, SOPs, and incident logs
  • Support internal and external IT audits and implement recommended controls
  • Train and guide IT support staff and end users on best practices and security awareness


Required Skills & Experience


  • Strong experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, and Exchange Server
  • Hands-on knowledge of Cisco networking devices and Check Point firewalls
  • Experience with IT security, backup solutions, DR planning, and antivirus systems
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues
  • Knowledge of system monitoring, patch management, and performance optimization


Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field
  • 5–8 years of experience in System and Network Administration
  • Relevant certifications (MCSE, CCNA/CCNP, Check Point, ITIL) preferred
  • Experience in Retail IT environments
