Come join the "QuickBooks Mid Market Engineering team" as a "Software Engineer 1". QuickBooks is the flagship accounting software from Intuit that fuels millions of small business owners and accountants across multiple countries globally. QuickBooks is truly the operating system behind small business accounting and comes in multiple flavors – QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop as well as the mobile edition.

This role is ideal for those at the start of their professional journey, with less than two years of industry experience who are eager to learn, grow, and make an immediate impact. We are looking for a highly motivated and creative problem solver with a passion for innovation to join our team and revolutionize the way the world does business.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate strong coding foundation in coding practices. Writes clean, reusable code, and actively participates in code reviews.
  • Experience developing scalable and dynamic web-applications using Java, Python and familiarity with modern frontend tools and frameworks such as React or AngularJS.
  • Understanding of GraphQL, RESTful API design principles and ability to work with API integrations.
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript standards
  • Roughly 90% hands-on coding.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 0-2 years’ experience developing web software applications
  • Foundational understanding of programming principles, object-oriented design and Agile development.
  • Experience of Java, React, Spring, RESTful, GraphQL frameworks.
  • Basic knowledge of front-end web technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and familiarity with frameworks or tools is a plus.
  • Basic experience with unit testing & integration testing.
  • Demonstrates basic familiarity with AI, particularly GenAI. Is curious about existing tools and actively uses new tools, including AI, in their daily tasks.
  • Strong written, verbal, and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new priorities, tools, and technologies in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
